Managing Director


Simon is responsible for managing the overall MODUS team and ensuring the office environment is productive and engaging, and an enjoyable place to work.


Simon has wide-ranging experience gained through working in the commercial and industrial construction sector since 1996, working on a variety of projects across sectors Australia-wide.


Growing up on a sheep, cropping and cattle farm in the wheat-belt town of Wagin, Simon is driven toward finding a practical solution to problems, understanding always that construction has to be commercially viable, as well as operationally functional.


When not at work, Simon enjoys relaxing with the family, riding his bike or heading to the beach.

Colin Gardiner - MODUS Design


Design Director


Colin Gardiner is the Design Director and Principal Building Designer with over twelve years experience working with MODUS Design and along with his well developed sense of humour, plays a valuable role in the tight-knit but relaxed company culture.  


Colin’s keen eye for detail and approach to work has made him a valuable member of the MODUS team. He has a developed a methodical and measured approach to design and drafting as well as experience in a wide range of projects and is considered a safe pair of hands managing complex projects where all consultants need to be kept abreast of decisions as they develop.

A trusted and safe pair of hands, Colin is able to pick up and deliver a vast array of projects whereby clients value his considered opinion on all aspects of architectural delivery or management of processes therein. 


During his time at MODUS, Colin has included extra-curricular studies to become an Accredited Energy Efficiency Assessor and his interest and knowledge in sustainable building are an asset to himself and the company..


Michelle manages business development for MODUS and seeks to form strong relationships between the company and clients such as Developers, Builders, Project Managers, Facilities Managers, Investor and the like.


Her background as a residential & commercial building designer gives Michelle terrific insight into the industry and a solid understanding of processes in which MODUS can add value to our clients. 


In her spare time, Michelle enjoys keeping fit at her local CrossFit Box and spending time with her cat Harper and husband Rob.

Soraya Acosta - MODUS Design


Building Designer


MODUS Design Building Designer Soraya brings energy, diligence and a high-level of expertise to the table on all manner of commercial and industrial projects. She also has well developed presentation skills where she leverages 3D modelling and editing tools like Photoshop and Illustrator to bring designs to life.


A confident communicator, Soraya is quickly across the detail and drives the project forward through the approvals process, mindful at all times of the clients’ key requirements where she is able to quietly negotiate an outcome to their satisfaction.  Her experience in problem solving and focus on quality saw her responsible for implementing REVIT into Fleetwood’s design-team and found her ultimately in charge of the design delivery for Fleetwood projects across Western Australia and South Australia.  Soraya is able to develop enduring relationships based simply on following through on commitments and being proactive.


When not at work, Soraya is passionate about design and dedicates some of her own time with friends on projects back in her native Venezuela.  She also loves to spend time with her partner and their chow chow Apollo, watching Korean soap-operas.

Jane Park

Building Designer


Jane Park fulfills an important role in our Building Design team, bringing a considered approach to managing design processes and developing a positive project-team culture.  Her proven ability to work methodically and efficiently through all facets of design and documentation also contributes to our focus on delivery.


Jane understands that preparation of quality documentation is critical if the final built-form is to perform to expectation, a much-valued skill that saw Jane working on the production of the national Woolworths generic design standards; a set of working drawings and details that form the ideal design outcome for all new and refurbished Woolworths stores Australia-wide.  Her talent in forging friendly and productive peer-relationships locally and interstate has also been recognised with Jane working with other major national retail operators including Uniqlo, Blooms the Chemist and BWS Liquor.


When not in the office, Jane enjoys pursuing her interests in sustainable living, recycling and cooking.

Fiona Monck - MODUS


Fiona is MODUS's Project Coordinator responsible for ensuring seamless delivery of MODUS's work including project scheduling and submissions to authorities.  Fiona has excellent communication skills and provides clients with updates on the progression of their projects.


Prior to commencing with MODUS, Fiona worked in the WA legal sector as a Senior Legal Secretary & Office Manager responsible for training and managing secretarial and administrative staff as well as assisting with billing, staff travel, and logistics.


Fiona and her partner Dave love spending time on the beach with their two fur kids.


Bookkeeper / Accounts Payable

Chris is the MODUS company bookkeeper and is responsible for managing Accounts Payable and administering the Company's  finances including liaising with the ATO and our external accountants PKF. 


Aside from working with MODUS since 2006, Chris's previous experience includes working in London for Euro Elite Recruitment, and in Australia, BSD Consultants, E-Shares, Brookhampton Estate, and Cousin's Electrics.


When not working on the company's accounts Chris looks after two kids, a hyper-active dog and squeezes in the odd walk and pilates session.

Personal Assistant & Office Coordinator

Sally is the Personal Assistant to the Managing Director and Office Coordinator, responsible for providing support to the Managing Director & general support to the team, across various projects. 

She is a highly-motivated, senior administrative professional with exceptional communication and organisational skills, bringing lateral thinking and initiative to all tasks, recognised in her winning the Realmark National Support Person of the Year 2019.

With GM experience managing secretarial and administrative tasks for directors and senior staff across real estate, community relations and hospitality roles (including running her own restaurant for 2 years), Sally is adept at working productively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Outside of work, Sally enjoys time with her family and a love of food culture, balanced with an interest in health and fitness.
